Cheyenne, Hunter & Dylan | December 24, 2007 |
|

We are spending Christmas week at the farm with Buffy's family. We
always have a wonderful time there and enjoy every single day.
Shooting Cheyenne, Hunter and Dylan is my favorite way to pass the
time while we're there. They can have their photos posted on MySpace
within minutes after shooting them in the field
or out back by the barn. We may take some more tomorrow afternoon once we
recover from Christmas day turkey and dressing. Yum.

The Melson Family, Take 2! | December 22, 2007 |
|

I'm grateful for second chances! Today was a re-shoot for the Melson
family. The results from our first session didn't measure up because
of some technical shortcomings on my part. We shot in some
challenging lighting circumstances and were disappointed with the
results. I met them at the Gaylord Texas for a "do over" this
morning and I am much happier with these. They are a very beautiful
family and I am glad I can finally deliver beautiful photos to them.

So In Love | December 16, 2007 |
|

I had the privilege of shooting David and Kristen's engagement
photos this afternoon. David is a former student of mine, from when
I taught at Irving High. He and Kristen are students at ACU and they
are both amazing people. I have to say that this was one of the more
fun and rewarding sessions I've had in a long time. I have done so
many babies, children and family sessions recently, that this was a
welcome change. I had a chance to try some more creative poses and
lighting techniques that I don't normally get to practice with
really young clients. All of that aside,
you HAVE
to go browse through their gallery and see why I am so excited.

Christmas Smiles | December 10, 2007 |
|

If you haven't been out to the Gaylord Texan yet, you have got to
go. They have done a really nice job of getting everything dressed
up for the Holidays. I met the Maisano's out there yesterday and
caught a lot of Christmas smiles. Here's James telling me about the
Wiggles guitar he wants Santa to bring.

Good Advice | December 8, 2007 |
|
Ed called me up on Friday afternoon and needed a quick session for
Saturday. Since he told me needed the photos for his grown kids as a
Christmas gift, I couldn't say no. We'd never met before, nor did we
have any friends in common because he had just found me on the
internet by chance. Regardless, we had a great conversation
throughout the shoot and and I really enjoyed getting to know him.
He had been through some pretty tough times, but things were
beginning to look up for him. He told me that the time he had spent
with his son and daughter when they were young had been the
glue that had held them all together through all the years. He
shared several regrets he had looking back on his life, but when he
spoke about his children he talked with great pride and big smile.
Thanks Ed, I am going to remember your story.

Busy Weekend | December 3, 2007 |
|
What a weekend! I had two sessions on Saturday and two sessions
back-to-back on Sunday afternoon. Despite the fact that I worked
through the weekend, I had a great time with four wonderful
families. I will be doing the same thing next weekend, and I am
actually looking forward to it. I can relax later...right? Christmas
break is right around the corner.
