Kenya Trip 2014
In June, I'll be making my 7th trip to Kenya. Every time I step off the plane in Nairobi, I can't help but think of the Chronicles of Narnia stories. I get to live in two different worlds, and its just fascinating to discover how those two worlds are connected, between life in Texas and life in Kenya. There's no doubt that God is in control and works in both places, but there's a reason I am called to travel to Kenya every year. I came across this quote last week, and think it explains perfectly my situation:
My Fundraisers Were Fully Funded! Thank You!
Thank you, friends and family, for contributing to my fundraising projects for my upcoming trip back to Kenya! You contributed $3,100 in a week and a half. More than I was asking for, and a month ahead of my goal. I'm thankful that I know so many good people. Thanks to:
Kevin & Kenzie Chisum
Larry & Kitty McDowell
Still Needed: Tech Gadgets
If you have any laptops. tablets, iPhones, iPods, cameras, Kindles that you don't use any more, please consider letting me take them to Kenya. I can give them a brand new life there. These items, even if they are gently used, can be a huge asset to a student or teacher in Kenya. Obviously, iPhones and other smart phone are extremely useful, since phones in Kenya are many people's only access to the internet. I can wipe the data and remove your SIM card so there's no risk for you. Feel free to mail it to me or let me come pick it up. My mailing address is:
PO BOX 154
Guthrie, TX 79236
I'll be so appreciative of any help that you can send my way. The people I know and work with in Kenya are very close to my heart. Its such a blessing to be able to connect my friends in the US to my friends in Kenya.
